The chair opens the meeting by welcoming guests or members who are new and then addressing any personal or formal matters. The board is presented in a formal manner and the officers are introduced.
The board is often presented with large amounts of information between meetings, which can be in the form committee reports and correspondence. Chairs should allocate time to this during the meeting, but it is essential to not let this distract from the discussion of more urgent issues.
After the board has discussed the past’s performance and its related successes and hurdles it will proceed to discuss the future strategies.
